Mehr als 250 Forschende, Mitarbeitende und Praxispartner begegneten sich bei „Forschung trifft ...“ am 9. Mai 2025 am Forschungscampus Weigelstraße
Bei der 4. Ausgabe der Netzwerkveranstaltung „Forschung trifft ...“ erwartete die mehr als 250 Forschenden und Mitarbeitenden der HTWK Leipzig und des dazugehörigen Forschungs- und Transferzentrums Leipzig (FTZ) sowie die zahlreichen Partner aus Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Politik dieses Mal ein volles Programm: Neben dem Kennenlernen des Standortes und der Möglichkeit zur Vernetzung konnten sie an einem begleitenden Vortragsprogramm teilnehmen, einer spannende Keynote lauschen und bei der feierlichen Verleihung des Dissertationspreises 2024 der Stiftung HTWK dabei sein.
Im Mittelpunkt der diesjährigen Ausgabe der Veranstaltungsreihe stand der Forschungscampus Weigelstraße im Leipziger Stadtteil Engelsdorf als einen der jüngsten HTWK-Forschungsstandorte. Gelegen im Innovationspark Bautechnik Leipzig/Sachsen feierte im September 2022 das Institut für Betonbau (IfB) hier die Eröffnung des Carbonbetontechnikums. Rund zwei Jahre später eröffnete die Forschungsgruppe FLEX nur wenige Meter entfernt das HolzBauForschungsZentrum. In beiden Reallaboren entstehen Innovationen rund um das Bauen der Zukunft mit Carbonbeton und mit Holz – und das im Realmaßstab.
Accompanying specialist programme as well as tours and hands-on stations
The FLEX research group also used the event to celebrate its 10th anniversary, accompanied by a specialist programme on digitally based concepts for the resource-saving, recyclable construction of tomorrow at HTWK Leipzig. Prof Dr Klaus Holschemacher from the Institute of Concrete Construction spoke about building with carbon concrete. This was followed by presentations by Tobias Rudloff from the Institute for Process Automation and Embedded Systems on "Digital Concrete" and by Prof Dr Ingo Reinhold from iP³ Leipzig, the Institute for Printing, Processing and Packaging Leipzig, on additive manufacturing. Employees from the FLEX research group then gave further presentations on robotics in timber construction, the use of artificial intelligence and the potential of end-to-end digital value chains.
Die zahlreichen Gäste hatten im Laufe des Nachmittags und Abends zudem Gelegenheit, sich an verschiedenen Stationen sowohl im HolzBauForschungsZentrum als auch im Carbonbetontechnikum über die Innovationskraft der Reallabore zu informieren und praktische Einblicke in die Forschungsarbeit vor Ort zu erhalten. Das Interesse hierfür war bis in die Abendstunden hinein ungebrochen.
Further programme items: Keynote speech and dissertation prize
The opportunities for tours were supplemented by other exciting programme items: After a welcome address by Prof. Dr Jean-Alexander Müller, Rector of HTWK Leipzig, the 2024 Dissertation Prize of the HTWK Foundation was awarded. This year, it honoured Dr Christoph Oefner, whose doctoral thesis dealt with the clinical problem of implant loosening in patients with osteoporosis - a growing problem in an increasingly ageing society.
This was followed by a guest lecture by Thomas Strobel, Managing Director of the management consultancy Fenwis. In his speech on the "Innovation Roadmap 2050", the "pilot of the future" took a look at the construction sector of the future and used numerous examples to explain the essential steps and framework conditions for successful future planning and necessary transformations over the next 25 years. To mark the 10th anniversary, Prof Dr Alexander Stahr, head of the FLEX research group, gave an outlook on its future development. One of the next development steps will be the establishment of the institute as a further in-house institute of HTWK Leipzig in order to emphasise its long-term strategy.
