Equality

Structural equal opportunities and the creation of gender equality are core tasks of the university and a central component of HTWK Leipzig's structural and development planning. The declared aim is to promote a culture of equal opportunities and to orientate HTWK Leipzig as a gender and family-friendly university, i.e. to provide non-discriminatory, equal opportunities and appreciative structures for all members of the university. To this end, Gender Equality is also committed to all members of the Faculty of Architecture and Social Sciences, i.e. students, employees in technology, administration, teaching and research and professors.

Our areas of responsibility as decentralised Equal Opportunities Officer of the Faculty AS are

• Continuous participation in the Faculty Council (with voting rights)
• Participation and counselling in staffing and appointment procedures for professorships to be filled at the faculty and evaluation from a gender equality perspective
• Initial counselling and support for all faculty members in the event of incidents of disadvantage, discrimination, harassment and violence at our faculty - in accordance with the "Guidelines on fair treatment and anti-discrimination at HTWK Leipzig". The guidelines are only available to employees on the intranet. A login to the site is required.
  Students can access the guidelines via OPAL.
• Networking with the Diversity Office and the Complaints Office according to §13 AGG at HTWK
• Information on equality-related funding programmes at HTWK for students and academics in the doctoral and postdoctoral phase

The current support programmes at the HTWK are the programmes: Move on for Master's students, Next Step for scientists in the doctoral or postdoc phase, and Wissenschaft findet Stadt, a mentoring programme that offers students an insight into work opportunities in the city of Leipzig.
