On the architecture floor, students have workstations in 2 north and 3 south studios. In addition to work tables and PC workstations, they offer Styrocut workstations and shared material stations. The south studio has 12 flexible day workstations. They are used by students without a fixed workstation to bridge "free periods" or for group work and must be vacated daily after use.
Use of the workstations
All work areas in the studios are shared by Bachelor's and Master's students. Together with the PC pool and Creative Club, they are only accessible to architecture students and lecturers using the HTWK cards.
The use of the workstations within the work areas is regulated by the students among themselves after the central allocation of workstations and each student appoints a contact person for a sub-area. A centralised occupancy list provides information about the users assigned to each semester. Organisational support for the studios is provided by student assistants (studio supervisors).
Studio rules and house rules must be observed for sustainable use and must be demonstrably recognised, e.g. when allocating space. It is particularly important to observe the fire safety concept: the centre corridor must be kept clear at all times, it is a FLUCHTWEG! In addition to the house rules, there is an absolute ban on fire and smoking, as there is a fire alarm system that triggers a fire brigade call-out in the event of an alarm.
At the end of the semester, the entire floor is tidied up "ready for handover" by ALL studio users!
Furniture & equipment
The architecture floor is equipped with height-adjustable tables, chairs, PC and Styrocut workstations, material stations, etc. All equipment is to be left on site, used with care and, of course, not damaged. In particular: NO cutter cuts on the table tops, there are large cutting boards for this purpose!
Lockers are available to architecture students, which must be labelled by name when in use. The occupancy of the lockers is recorded centrally. The lockers must be secured with their own locks and vacated at the end of the examination period. Lockers that have not been vacated will be opened and the contents disposed of!
In addition to the PC pool, there are permanently installed CAD workstations in the studios. These are used for sending print jobs and computer-intensive work. All rooms are equipped with a sufficient number of wastepaper baskets, which are emptied by the HTWK cleaning service. In addition, there are large waste boxes for modelling waste in the studios, which are emptied by the students themselves into the containers provided.
