The scope of construction tasks opens up a wide range of job opportunities. These are available in independent architecture and planning offices, in housing and housing development companies, construction and property companies, companies with their own construction and planning departments and in the public sector. The main fields of activity are supporting work in the areas of design and realisation, construction preparation and management, construction planning, construction research and teaching.

The professional title of architect may only be used by those who are a registered member of a state chamber of architects. The Bachelor's degree programme does not entitle the holder to use this title. Only the Master's degree programme following the Bachelor's degree and additional proof of professional practice entitle the holder to use the title. The exact requirements for registration are regulated in the architects' laws of the individual federal states.
