Printing technology
Architecture students have access to several large-format plotters (Canon iPF785) and colour laser multifunctional devices (printing, scanning, up to DIN A3 format) in the printing centre (Li416) on the architecture floor.
All print jobs are billed via a print account.
The deposit machine only accepts banknotes (€5 | €10 | €20 | €50) if the account does not show a negative balance. Anyone with a negative balance must first clear it. Appointment request by mail.
A deposit machine is available in the room (Li416).
The printing and graphics centre is under video surveillance.
Print accounting
All print jobs go through a billing system.
All architecture students automatically receive a printing account with a starting credit of €1.00.
The print account can be topped up with banknotes at the payment machine in room Li416. Authentication at the deposit machine is done with the HTWK-Card.
The print account is only closed at the time of de-registration. Due to the system, credit balances cannot be paid out. A transfer to another user account with direct settlement between the users usually takes place. Negative print accounts must be balanced before de-registration.
Cost table (standard values)
Standard values for plotters
The costs are charged according to paper area: 2.50 € / m² standard paper/plotter 01, regardless of whether coloured or black/white; 5.00 € / m² premium paper/plotter 02.
Ink and paper consumption should be designed to conserve resources.
Full-surface backgrounds should be avoided. Otherwise the printing costs must be increased due to rising consumption values of the plotter ink.
